Take a romp in the swamp with this New York Times bestselling mystery adventure set in the Florida Keys from Newbery Honoree Carl Hiaasen!

Noah's dad is sure that the owner of the Coral Queen casino boat is flushing raw sewage into the harbor—which has made taking a dip at the local beach like swimming in a toilet. He can't prove it though, and so he decides that sinking the boat will make an effective statement. Right. The boat is pumped out and back in business within days and Noah's dad is in the local lock-up.

Now Noah is determined to succeed where his dad failed. He will prove that the Coral Queen is dumping illegally . . . somehow.

I read this book because i love the florida keys and the title sounded interesting. My friend introduced me tø the series and now i love all of the Carl Hiaasen books! Go Me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As the book starts out, you will find that there are not just one shady character, but several, and many more that help, and hurt the Underwood family. You will find some family surprises, as well as a special family member that has some really exclusive access. The Underwood family consists of (at the beginning-middle of the book) Noah, his younger sister Abbey, and the parents Mr. and Mrs.Underwood. If you care about the environment, your awareness will be put to shame by Noah's father and the determination that his children have to protect it and their local town from insanitary water to fishy casino owners. Mr.Underwood ends up going to jail for faulty reasons and bartenders that you have mixed feelings about end up helping the children on their quest to sink the Coral Queen casino boat.

From the guy who wrote HOOT, comes Flush. I'm reading this with one of our book groups. Let's just say it starts with a child visiting their father in jail. If that doesn't pull you right in, I'm not quite sure what will! I"ll keep you posted!

Wow! What was there not to like about Noah Underwood, his little sister Abbey, the creep Lice Peeking and the wretched Dusty Muleman. This book had real villains who threatened the health and safety of everything Noah's passionate, however misguided, father cared about. It has just the right balance of mystery, adventure, comedy and environmental conscience. I loved this book!

Flush is an AWESOME book. we read it in class and i would totally suggest it to the world. If you like this one, try reading Hoot and Scat by Carl Hiaasen.

I love these books by Carl Hiassen. Flush, Scat and hoot are 3 great books that are not only entertaining, but also teach you about the environment in a unique way!
