Gavin Bell and his teenage sister Fleur come from a middle-class family. Their much-loved, old-fashioned robot, Grumps, is running down and can’t be repaired, so a scientist friend loans them EGR3, an experimental new robot to help Grumps. EGR3, known as Eager, learns from his experiences, as a child would. He feels emotions—wonder, excitement, and loss. When the ultra high-tech, eerily human BDC4 robots begin to behave suspiciously, Eager and the Bells are drawn into a great adventure that is sometimes dark and often humorous. As Eager’s extraordinary abilities are tested to the limit, he will try to find the answer to this question: What does it mean to be alive?

You should read eager because he learn new thing about our world. He is half robot and half human. it hard for him to learn new things because he has lots of things he need to learn . it makes you think if our world is fair because robots need to charge it self to live.
This was a good book
The book was amazing ton thing a robot that learns, feel, and makes decions on It's own
The book was interesting. I liked that the time was in a techno society. The two main characters Gavin and Fleur live with their parents and a ROBOT!! That robot's name is grumps. When grumps starts to dis function they are given a new robot. It learns about the world. What happens if the other robots get out of control. Read the book to find out what happens.
