Boys don’t keep diaries—or do they?

The launch of an exciting and innovatively illustrated new series narrated by an unforgettable kid every family can relate to

It’s a new school year, and Greg Heffley finds himself thrust into middle school, where undersized weaklings share the hallways with kids who are taller, meaner, and already shaving. The hazards of growing up before you’re ready are uniquely revealed through words and drawings as Greg records them in his diary.

In book one of this debut series, Greg is happy to have Rowley, his sidekick, along for the ride. But when Rowley’s star starts to rise, Greg tries to use his best friend’s newfound popularity to his own advantage, kicking off a chain of events that will test their friendship in hilarious fashion.

Author/illustrator Jeff Kinney recalls the growing pains of school life and introduces a new kind of hero who epitomizes the challenges of being a kid. As Greg says in his diary, “Just don’t expect me to be all ‘Dear Diary’ this and ‘Dear Diary’ that.” Luckily for us, what Greg Heffley says he won’t do and what he actually does are two very different things.

Since its launch in May 2004 on Funbrain.com, the Web version of Diary of a Wimpy Kid has been viewed by 20 million unique online readers. This year, it is averaging 70,000 readers a day.

Diary of a wimpy kid By: Jeff Kinney Do you like reading funny comics? Diary of a wimpy kid by Jeff Kinney is a great book! This book takes place mostly at Greg's house, school, his friends house. He always hangs out with this kid Rowley. The protagonist is Greg because he's always trying to make things better. On the other hand the antagonist is Rodrick Greg's older brother. His mom bought him this journal. Rodrick is always trying to make Greg get into trouble with his parents or at school trying to make fun of him in front of his friends. I can't explain the conflicts because I would just give away most of the book. But they fix all the problems between the characters at the end. I enjoyed this book, I would recommend it to people who like comedy. It's feels like you're in his life because each day he writes down what he does if anything happened in school and other home activities.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney tells the story of a boy named Greg Heffley. His first day of Middle School was a bit of a bust. The life of Greg goes well unless he is in the same house as Rodrick, his brother. This is a very funny Graphic Novel and recommended for ages 8-12 who like comedy.

Leroy Leroy

Greg Heffley- Middle Schooler, Good Friend, Unlucky Kid and...DIARY KEEPER!? This is not a Diary, this is a Journal: Greg Heffley is your ordinary teenage boy. He has a good friend. He has good grades. An annoying little brother, and an even more annoying older brother. However, his life gets turned upside down when he gets taken from his easy life in Elementary School, and is thrust into the hustle and bustle of Middle School. Not only does he have to worry about school, but also keeping the one thing he has- a secret. Greg Heffley has a Diary. This book is his Diary, which he is trusting you with, so as to keep his secrets, well...secrets. After entering Middle School, not only does he find that 99% of every guy there is taller than him and doesn't practice basic hygiene, but also that 99% of the school has started to take a liking to his best friend Rowley. However, after trying to take advantage of his buddy's popularity, a wild and crazy adventure unfolds. Read on, as Greg tries to maintain his "cool kid" mentality, but utterly fails. (And now, a short message from Leroy: Hey guys! Just saying, this book is freaking sick, but don't just take my word for it. Read it for yourself! And as always- Keep on READING! - Leo)
