The amazing manga retelling of Darren Shan's international best-selling vampire saga, with illustrations by Japanese artist Takahiro Arai. Darren Shan is just an ordinary schoolboy - until he gets an invitation to visit the Cirque du Freak...until he meets Madame Octa...until he comes face-to-face with a creature of the night! Soon Darren is caught up in a web of terror from which he cannot escape, with his best friend's life hanging by the finest of threads. Darren must make a bargain to save Steve, but the only one that can help is not human and only deals in blood...The stunning illustrations and manga format give a new dimension to this ever-popular vampire saga, available for the first time in translation in the UK. This will be a must-have for Shan fans and manga aficionados alike.

This fantasy novel is so spine-chillingly good! Every chapter ends with a twist that makes you want to read more. The characters are colourful and crazy. I would recommend this to those wanting to try a different genre and get into fantasy books.
I really like horror so I'll most definitely look it to this book.
I really enjoy reading this book to the class.
I would give it 5 stars!
I read the whole series, it was amazing!
This book was amazing, and very easy to read. It left me intrigued and wanting more. Darren Shan (main character) is a boy and best friend to Steve, they venture out on an adventure that starts with a flyer and ends with a bang. Steve finds a flyer to attend a freak show (and of course, they both go) once there he meets Larten Crepsley one person who will change Darren's life forever.
This book is amazing. It's starts with a boy obsessed with spiders and a boy obsessed with monsters ,but it's much more than that. Not only is the plot great but the character developments are awesome as well. You really get hooked onto the story of the young Darren Shan and his life. This may seem like a books about love sick vampires ,but really it's about a war, an unbreakable bond, and destiny. I believe anyone who reads this will fall in love with the tale of Darren,Steve, and a man who goes by the name Mr.Crepsley.
