My friend and i read this book we loved it we also read Forge and I'm waiting for the third book Ashes (comes out in March 2014 i know its a long time) its about the african slave and what she experiences.
i heard this book is really good and i really want to read it! i love history!
NO WONDER IT WON TWO AWARDS!!! This book was impossibly perfect for me. I was really yuck about history books, but this book changed that COMPLETELY. Warning, this book was MUCH better written than its sequel named Forge. Chains' spin off ending was considered a preparation for the next book, and I found that wonderful. This author is now one of my favorites, and if you liked this book, I would DEFINITELY recommend the book Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson. This is another dramatic book by the same author. I LOVE YOU LAURIE!
This book is historical fiction and tells what life was like for a slave. Isabel Gardner or Sal Lockton goes through a hard life at somewhere between 8 and 12 years old. I thought I wouldn't like it because I am not much for this genre, but I loved it!
It was a good book, and out of the whole series, this was definetly the best.
