It is about the Great Depression A boy is being a foster and find out very touching

I think the book is very well I am reading this book right now and so far it is GREAT! i give it a 3 right now but i have only read the first 30 pages! it is for a person who like mystery books too.

I really enjoyed the book. Really cool characters. Read if you like historical fiction.

During the Depression, a young boy bouncing between living in an orphanage and in foster homes sets out to find his father, who he thinks is the leader of a jazz band. A funny, touching, engaging coming of age novel.

I thought this book is incredible. i almost started to cry. I loved it an i read in the 4th grade summer going into 5th and i count put the book down

I loved this book because it showed alot of detail and it really was touching. It was a little bit sad and alittle bit funny. It takes place in the 1930s and i think every body should give his book a look. It earned a medel so try it!!!!

this book is about a young boy who sets off o a journey to find his "daddy" in the gran rapids. this boys name is Bud and his "dads" name is Herman E Colloway.

I kinda liked it, but it didn't help that I was being forced to read it in 5th grade and I just wanted to get it done because it was really, quite a drag.
