A New York Times-Bestseller!
For twelve-year-old Emily, the best thing about moving to San Francisco is that it's the home city of her literary idol: Garrison Griswold, book publisher and creator of the online sensation Book Scavenger (a game where books are hidden in cities all over the country and clues to find them are revealed through puzzles). Upon her arrival, however, Emily learns that Griswold has been attacked and is now in a coma, and no one knows anything about the epic new game he had been poised to launch. Then Emily and her new friend James discover an odd book, which they come to believe is from Griswold himself, and might contain the only copy of his mysterious new game.
Racing against time, Emily and James rush from clue to clue, desperate to figure out the secret at the heart of Griswold's new game―before those who attacked Griswold come after them too.

read this in fourth grade. It is an adventerous story.
This amazing book was about a girl who just moved to San Francisco, only to find that her Idol-and author by the name of Griswold-was attacked and is now in a coma. With the help of her new friend James, she finds an old book which is the first of many clues to find the puzzle to his soon-to-be game. But can they find all the clues before they themselves get attacked? This is a great book that I highly recommend!
Emily has moved around all her life. Her parents life goal is to have lived in every state in the country. So you can see why it would be hard for Emily to make friends, when her families always picking up and leaving. There is a website that has always helped her called Book Scavenger. When her family moves to San Francisco, she meets a boy named James and together they try to find out more a mysterious book they've found. Whilst finding clue, after clue, after clue, they become aware that they're being followed, and the people following them would do anything to get to the end of the game.
I LOVE it!!! This book is AWESOME!!! I think that my favorite character is probably James, though Emily follows close behind. I recommend this book to EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!
Book Scavenger is hard to keep up with because it goes by quickly, making it hard to understand. I don't think the problem the characters had itself was interesting enough. Otherwise, the book was okay.
I like this book it was fun i loved it i would recommend this book to people who enjoy scavengers and who like mystrerys and i now i am one of them
This story is about a family that had a dream to go to the 50 states, well most of the family did.there was a girl named Emily, and she HATED moving cuz she couldn't make any friends in the short time she lived somewhere.well they moved to California where the BOOK SCAVENGER game started. and that day she actually made a friend and the next day her life got interesting.
This book is AMAZING. If you are a fan of the Gollywhopper Games or Chris Grabenstein, this is a book for you. Emily is a constant user of an extremely popular book scavenging site. When she moves to San Francisco, the home of the famous Garrison Griswold (creator of the popular scavenging site and other book-related events), she starts hunting right away. But after a mysterious accident and an insane discovery, she ends up trying to solve a game that hasn't even been released to the public with her brother, Matthew, and her friend, James. This scavenger turns out to be the hunt of her life! I can't wait to read The Unbreakable Code!
