This is a book about a girl named Opal and her father, or as she calls him, the preacher (he preaches a lot during church) moving to Florida. When Opal moves, she finds a dog running through the Winn-Dixie supermarket. A stray. Her and her father decide to care for the dog, or as Opal named him, Winn-Dixie. The two become the best of friends and meet lots of new people. You will love this book just like I did. :)
