The New York Times bestseller A Long Walk to Water begins as two stories, told in alternating sections, about two eleven-year-olds in Sudan, a girl in 2008 and a boy in 1985. The girl, Nya, is fetching water from a pond that is two hours’ walk from her home: she makes two trips to the pond every day. The boy, Salva, becomes one of the "lost boys" of Sudan, refugees who cover the African continent on foot as they search for their families and for a safe place to stay. Enduring every hardship from loneliness to attack by armed rebels to contact with killer lions and crocodiles, Salva is a survivor, and his story goes on to intersect with Nya’s in an astonishing and moving way.

This is a really sad book. It is really interesting and happy at the end. Salva (the main carracter) is a very courages boy.

I really want to read this book. The summary seems so interesting and I like books that alternate characters so I think I just may like this book.

This book is interesting and shows two stories that oddly connect at the end. It's awesome.

well i like this book because it made me feel like i was in that invierment and it made me feel sad because well you have to read it your self..:)

I LOVED THIS BOOK! MYFAVORITE BOOK.

A fun story to read with cool characters. I like that it refers to Alcatraz;s history. A unique ending that makes you think.

This was a good book, that's really all i have to say about it.

I read A long walk to water in class. It was very tragic in the beginning because the story is about the life of a poor village boy named Salva , and he is the main character. He had to endure a pretty harsh life and a hostile environment., when there his country Southern Sudan is involved in a brutal war. Just like most stories however, ,there was a happy ending for him, which I wont spoil for those reading this book.

there are two stories in this book and at the end both of the stories combined. it is a really good book
