Last week, Boston residents were treated to a rather unusual fashion show - One where instead of walking down a normal horizontal catwalk, the models strutted down the wall of the newly opened Revere Hotel's 24-story building.
The event, which took place on April 18th, the 237th anniversary of Paul Revere's infamous ride across the city to mark the beginning of the Revolutionary war, was held to celebrate the opening of the 325 room, 35,000 square feet luxury hotel in Boston's theater district.
As you have probably guessed by now, the brave men and women walking down vertically were no ordinary models but climbers from Boston's Rock Gym who were strapped in with high-tech rappelling rope and form-fitting body harnesses that kept them strutting confidently, as they walked and even leaped down the catwalk.
While some of the models were sporting the Spring/Summer collection from British designer label Ted Baker London, others were fittingly enough showing off the stylish Revere hotel uniforms designed by the students from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. The hotel officials who provided free binoculars to passerby's curious to watch the show, said that they wanted to announce its grand opening with a splash - Judging from the awed look on the people who witnessed it, we think they accomplished their mission!
